Role & Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy integration flows (iFlows) in SAP Integration Suite / CPI
  • Develop and maintain interfaces using SAP PI / PO (Process Integration / Process Orchestration) for on-premise or hybrid landscapes
  • Migrate / modernize existing PI/PO integration scenarios to SAP Integration Suite (CPI / BTP)
  • Configure and manage SAP adapters (e.g., IDoc, SOAP, REST, OData, RFC, SFTP, JDBC, File, etc.)
  • Perform message mapping, routing, and transformations, including XSLT, value mapping, and Groovy / JavaScript scripting
  • Implement error handling, exception management, and alerting in integration flows
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize integration performance and throughput
  • Work with security artifacts: authentication, encryption, decryption (e.g., OAuth, Basic Auth, certificate-based)
  • Implement API management (if relevant) and adopt modern integration patterns (event-driven, API-led, pub/sub)
  • Create and maintain technical documentation (interface design, configuration, mapping specs)
  • Collaborate with functional consultants, business analysts, and other technical teams to gather and translate integration requirements
  • Provide technical support / post-deployment support for integration solutions
  • Recommend best practices, reuse strategies, and design patterns for integration architecture

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in SAP CPI / Integration Suite and PI / PO.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in building and maintaining iFlows, with Groovy / JavaScript scripting, XSLT, and mapping capabilities.
  • Deep knowledge of integration technologies and patterns: SOAP, REST, IDoc, OData, RFC, etc.
  • Experience with SAP BTP services: Cloud Connector, API Gateway, Event Mesh, Open Connectors, or similar (if required)
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills: diagnosing middleware issues, log analysis, performance tuning, root-cause analysis.
  • Familiarity with secure integration: handling security artifacts, encryption, authentication.
  • Experience with lifecycle management: versioning, transport management, deployment.
  • Strong communication skills, able to work independently and with remote teams.
  • Good documentation practices: interface spec, solution design, mapping documents.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

  • Previous involvement in migration projects from SAP PI/PO to Integration Suite / CPI.
  • Experience with event-driven architecture (Event Mesh) or API-led integration in SAP BTP.
  • SAP certification (e.g., SAP Certified Development Associate – Process Integration, or SAP Integration Suite)
  • Knowledge of DevOps / CI-CD for integration flows
  • Experience with hybrid integration landscapes (cloud + on-prem)
  • Experience integrating with non-SAP systems (Salesforce, Workday, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Agile / Scrum methodology
