Position Summary
As an Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating and maintaining key equipment including CCR (Continuous Casting and Rolling), Rolling Mill, Caster, Shaft Furnace, and associated utilities. Your role is critical in ensuring high-quality production, maintaining safety standards, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safe Operation & Compliance
  • Operate CCR, Rolling Mill, Caster, Shaft Furnace, and utilities in line with safety protocols and company policies.
  • Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) and enforce PPE compliance among all personnel on your shift.
  • Follow safety procedures including permit-to-work systems and participate in safety meetings and training sessions.
  • Process Monitoring & Control
  • Monitor and control key process parameters to ensure smooth and efficient production operations.
  • Adjust machine settings and parameters to maintain product quality and process stability.
  • Detect and respond promptly to abnormalities or equipment issues to minimize downtime.
  • Quality Assurance
  • Conduct regular inspections of products and process outputs for quality adherence.
  • Collect samples and coordinate with the lab for quality testing.
  • Take corrective actions to reduce defects and improve product consistency.
  • Housekeeping & 5S
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in all operating zones.
  • Implement and sustain 5S standards to ensure efficiency and workplace safety.
  • Equipment Maintenance & Autonomous Activities
  • Perform routine checks and basic maintenance tasks on machinery and utilities.
  • Support autonomous maintenance activities to enhance equipment reliability.
  • Report faults and coordinate with maintenance teams for timely repairs.
  • Teamwork & Coordination
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including furnace, caster, and rolling mill operators to ensure seamless operations.
  • Assist colleagues during process disruptions such as jams or equipment stoppages.
  • Training & Development
  • Participate in skill development and safety training programs.
  • Support onboarding and training of new operators and contract workers.
  • Continuous Improvement & Kaizen
  • Contribute ideas for process improvement and cost reduction through Kaizen initiatives.
  • Engage in projects focused on improving production efficiency, safety, and sustainability.
  • Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate logs of production data, safety observations, maintenance activities, and incidents.
  • Ensure timely communication of operational status and issues to supervisors.
  • Sustainability & Energy Efficiency
  • Follow company guidelines on environmental protection and resource conservation.
  • Participate in initiatives aimed at reducing energy consumption and waste generation.
