Job Title: Sr. Research Associate / Sr. Research Assistant

Job Type: Full-time (In person)

Job Location: Start-up at SINE, IIT Bombay, Powai

Pay scale: 6-8 LPA

Experience: Six years, mandatory

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Research Associate to lead and manage end-to-end research projects in our laboratory. The role requires strong technical expertise, hands-on experience with advanced instruments, and proven ability to work independently while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and innovation in all research activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and handle complete research projects from planning, execution, analysis, to reporting.
  • Independently perform and supervise advanced laboratory experiments.
  • Operate and maintain essential laboratory instruments such as UV-Vis Spectrophotometer, Thermal analysis instruments (TGA, DSC), HPTLC (High-performance thin-layer chromatography), Optical Microscopy,
  • Classical wet chemistry methods, synthesis, and titrimetry.
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Guide junior researchers, provide technical support, and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
  • Prepare detailed reports, publications, and presentations as required.

Qualifications & Experience

Education:

  • M.Sc. in Chemistry or Physics,
  • M. Tech. Chemical Engineering
  • M. Tech. Chemical Technology
  • M. Tech. Material Science or equivalent

Experience:

  • Minimum 6–7 years in a laboratory environment with proven project management experience is a must.
  • Strong expertise in chemical analysis techniques and wide-ranging hands-on experience with analytical instruments.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage projects with accountability for outcomes.
