Ab Initio Consultant

Job Description :

An Ab Initio Consultant is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing data integration and ETL solutions using the Ab Initio platform. This role involves working closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver scalable, high-performance data pipelines that support enterprise analytics and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • ETL Design & Development

  • Build and maintain ETL workflows using Ab Initio GDE (Graphical Development Environment).

  • Develop reusable components and frameworks for batch and real-time data processing.

  • Data Integration & Migration

  • Integrate structured and unstructured data from multiple sources.

  • Support data migration projects, including legacy system transitions and cloud onboarding.

  • Performance Optimization

  • Tune Ab Initio graphs for efficiency and scalability.

  • Troubleshoot performance issues and implement enhancements.

  • Collaboration & Consulting

  • Work with business analysts and data architects to understand requirements.

  • Participate in solution design, proof-of-concept workshops, and client demos.

  • Documentation & Compliance

  • Create and maintain technical documentation including HLDs and LLDs.

  • Ensure compliance with data governance and security standards.

  • Support & Maintenance

  • Provide post-deployment support and resolve production issues.

  • Monitor job execution and maintain operational stability.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 3–9 years of hands-on experience with Ab Initio development2.
  • Strong knowledge of DBMS concepts, SQL, and PL/SQL.
  • Experience with job scheduling tools (e.g., ESP, Control-M) and Unix/Linux scripting.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS S3) and BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.

  • Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
  • Experience with Snowflake or other modern data platforms is advantageous
