Position Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Shift Incharge with deep expertise in melting, casting, and metallurgical processes. The ideal candidate will have hands-on foundry experience, particularly in ductile iron, cast iron, or steel environments, and display strong leadership and analytical abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and control all melting operations, ensuring adherence to correct parameters and quality standards.
  • Supervise moulding and pouring to guarantee the right metal temperature and timely production.
  • Inspect raw materials, prepare charge mix, and maintain strict compliance with safety and quality protocols.
  • Conduct and support metallurgical testing; collaborate with the quality control (QC) team to drive product excellence.
  • Maintain accurate production and melting logs; track rejections and support root cause analysis for continual improvement.
  • Manage and motivate shopfloor workers to enhance productivity while upholding safety and housekeeping norms.
  • Liaise with maintenance teams to ensure fault-free, operational equipment and minimize downtime.
  • Lead or participate in Kaizen, cost control, and other process optimization initiatives.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Qualifications: Diploma or ITI in Metallurgy, Mechanical, or Foundry Technology
  • Experience: Minimum 8 years' experience in DI/CI/Steel foundry operations (mandatory)
  • Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of melting/foundry practices, sand systems, and casting defects
  • Skills: Proven leadership, problem-solving, strong organizational and communication skills
  • Other: Familiar with safety protocols, quality standards, and continuous improvement practices in a foundry setup
