Steel Melting Shop Engineer Manager Position Diploma B Tech in Metallurgical Engineering Experience 5-10 years relevant experience in Steel Melting Shop operations is mandatory Location Baidyabati Hooghly Employment Type Full Time Permanent Job Purpose To ensure efficient safe and cost-effective operation of the Steel Melting Shop SMS covering Induction Furnace IF Electric Arc Furnace EAF AOD LRF VD VOD operations bottom pouring casting process control manpower management and adherence to quality standards Key Responsibilities1 Operations Process Control Monitor and control EAF IF operations Ensure correct charge mix and optimize melting cycle time Supervise tapping ladle refining and casting operations Maintain process parameters to achieve targeted quality and yield 2 Production Planning Execution Execute daily weekly production schedules as per dispatch and inventory requirements Coordinate raw material supply melting and downstream processes Maintain accurate shift-wise production records and reports 3 Quality Metallurgy Ensure compliance with metallurgical standards and specifications Liaise with the quality department for testing analysis and corrective actions Analyze deviations and implement Corrective Preventive Actions CAPA 4 Equipment Maintenance Coordination Report abnormalities and assist in breakdown preventive maintenance Recommend improvements in equipment and layout for higher productivity 5 Safety Compliance Ensure compliance with plant safety and environmental regulations Conduct toolbox talks encourage safe practices and participate in audits Implement safety recommendations effectively 6 Team Management Supervise train and guide operators shift technicians and support staff Ensure proper shift handovers and logbook documentation Promote teamwork efficiency and skill development Key Skills Competencies In-depth knowledge of steel melting processes EAF IF LRF CCM Strong metallurgical knowledge and process control expertise Familiarity with refractory management and slag practices Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Effective communication and leadership skills Education UG Diploma in Metallurgy B Tech Metallurgy Role Industry Details Role Production Manufacturing - Steel Melting Shop Industry Type Iron Steel Department Production Manufacturing Engineering Role Category Production Manufacturing - Other Job Type Permanent Pay 30 202 41 - 92 321 91 per month Benefits Cell phone reimbursement Food provided Health insurance Leave encashment Life insurance Paid sick time Provident Fund Education Bachelor s Preferred Experience sms 8 years Preferred Work Location In person
