About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned and visionary Payroll Shared Service Leader to establish and lead a global Payroll Shared Service Center in India.

You will play a key role in driving payroll transformation, ensuring operational excellence, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Establishing Payroll Shared Services in India

2. Lead the design, setup, and operationalization of the Payroll Shared Service Center in India.

3. Define the service delivery model, governance structure, and performance standards.
4. Build and mentor a high-performing, customer-centric payroll team capable of supporting multi-country operations.

5. Ensure seamless integration with global payroll systems, policies, and processes.

6. Global Transformation Leadership

7. Drive global payroll transformation programs to enhance efficiency, scalability, and compliance.

8. Champion automation, digital tools, and process standardization across geographies.
9. Collaborate closely with HR, Finance, and IT to align payroll strategy with broader business and technology goals.

10. Lead change management and communication initiatives to ensure smooth transitions and stakeholder alignment.

11. Metrics and Continuous Improvement

12. Develop and own key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure service quality, accuracy, and timeliness.

13. Continuously assess operational performance to identify opportunities for process optimization.

14. Foster a culture of continuous improvement by driving innovation and adopting best-in-class practices.

15. Strategic Partnership and Leadership Collaboration

16. Partner with the Head of Global Service Delivery to define the global payroll strategy and transformation roadmap.

17. Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, offering insights on payroll compliance, cost efficiency, and workforce analytics.

18. Build strong partnerships across global payroll teams, HR COEs, and Finance to ensure seamless integration and collaboration.

19. Compliance and Risk Management

20. Ensure strict adherence to local, regional, and international payroll compliance standards.

21. Establish strong governance frameworks and internal controls to mitigate risk.
22. Manage payroll audits, regulatory requirements, and data privacy obligations with rigor and precision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in payroll management, including 10+ years leading shared services or global payroll transformation initiatives.
• Proven success in setting up or scaling shared service centers or global payroll operations.
• Deep understanding of multi-country payroll systems, processes, and compliance frameworks.
• Strong track record in people leadership, strategic planning, and transformation delivery.
• Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and executive influencing skills.
• Experience with global payroll technologies, automation tools, and analytics platforms preferred.
