Job Description – Senior Accountant

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented
Senior Accountant
to manage day-to-day financial operations, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and support management with accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, in-depth knowledge of accounting principles, and the ability to lead and mentor junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Manage general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing activities.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax laws, and company policies.
  • Coordinate and liaise with internal and external auditors.
  • Oversee accounts payable, receivable, and vendor/client reconciliations.
  • Prepare and file GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other statutory returns.
  • Monitor cash flow, banking operations, and treasury management.
  • Implement and maintain internal control systems to safeguard company assets.
  • Lead, guide, and review the work of junior accountants and finance staff.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to management for process improvement and cost optimization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional certifications (CA/CPA/CMA) preferred.
  • Minimum
    5–7 years
    of relevant accounting/finance experience.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS) and taxation.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software (e.g., Tally, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or ERP systems).
