Role Overview

As a UI/UX Designer at Zerozilla, you'll shape intuitive and visually refined interfaces that drive impact. You'll collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and clients—ensuring every component is pixel-perfect, scalable, and ready for seamless handoff.

We're looking for someone who thrives at the intersection of creativity and system thinking — who can think beyond the artboard and speak the language of both users and engineers.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design & Prototyping

• Own the end-to-end design process—from wireframes and flows to polished high-fidelity interfaces.

• Expertly utilize Figma for creating responsive layouts, interactive prototypes, and scalable component libraries.

• Apply Auto Layout, Variables, and Design Tokens for consistent and efficient design systems.

• Use Grid and Flex-based systems to ensure pixel-perfect responsive behavior across breakpoints.

• Create and maintain Design Systems, style guides, and component libraries that are developer-ready.

• Iterate based on feedback, usability testing, and product metrics.

2. User Research & Testing

• Conduct user interviews, heuristic evaluations, and usability testing.

• Translate insights into design improvements that align with user goals and business outcomes.

• Validate prototypes and iterate quickly based on data and feedback.

3. Developer Collaboration

• Work hand-in-hand with developers to ensure smooth translation from design to code.

• Create tokenized design specs, document spacing, typography, and color systems in a developer-friendly format (Figma Variables, JSON exports, etc.).

• Understand the fundamentals of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to communicate effectively and anticipate implementation challenges.

• Ensure designs adhere to accessibility (WCAG) standards and platform guidelines.

4. Requirement Gathering & Client Interaction

• Engage directly with clients and internal teams to translate business objectives into design outcomes.

• Conduct workshops to define user journeys, priorities, and success metrics.

• Present concepts and articulate design rationale clearly to stakeholders.

What You'll Bring

• 3+ years of experience in UI/UX design for web and mobile applications.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating deep understanding of layout systems, visual hierarchy, and interaction design.
• Advanced proficiency in Figma (Auto Layout, Components, Variants, Variables, and Prototyping).
• Experience with Design Systems, Style Dictionaries, and token-based design workflows.
• Understanding of CSS Grid, Flexbox, and responsive design principles.
• Familiarity with Figma-to-Dev handoff tools (Zeplin, Avocode, or Figma Inspect).
• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and front-end development workflows.
• Proficiency in motion and micro-interaction tools like ProtoPie, After Effects, or Principle.
• Strong communication skills and ability to justify design decisions clearly.
• Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies and cross-functional teamwork.

Bonus Skills

• Experience with Accessibility (WCAG 2.1) and inclusive design.
• Understanding of Design Tokens → Code pipelines (e.g., Figma Tokens plugin, Style Dictionary).
• Ability to build and maintain multi-brand or multi-theme design systems.
• Familiarity with version control for design systems (Git + Figma branching).
• Experience working in component-driven environments (React, Vue, Flutter UI alignment).
