Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Performance Tuning Specialist to analyze, optimize, and troubleshoot database performance issues in complex Oracle environments. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SQL tuning, Oracle internals, AWR/ASH analysis, and end-to-end performance diagnostics to ensure mission-critical systems perform optimally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks at the SQL, PL/SQL, and instance levels.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis using AWR, ASH, SQL Trace, tkprof, and other diagnostic tools.
  • Work with developers and DBAs to tune SQL queries, indexes, and PL/SQL code.
  • Optimize Oracle database configurations, including memory (SGA/PGA), I/O, and parallel execution settings.
  • Analyze execution plans using tools like EXPLAIN PLAN, DBMS_XPLAN.
  • Recommend and implement indexing strategies, partitioning, and materialized views to enhance performance.
  • Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to troubleshoot and improve end-to-end performance.
  • Proactively monitor system performance and capacity trends to avoid performance degradation.
  • Document tuning recommendations, performance baselines, and best practices.
  • Stay up to date on new Oracle features and enhancements (especially in versions 12c, 19c, and 21c).
  • Support production issues with rapid diagnosis and resolution, including after-hours support when needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Oracle Certified Performance Tuning Expert or Oracle Certified Professional (OCP).
  • Knowledge of APEX, Oracle Forms, or Java-based Oracle applications is a plus.
