Overview: The Continental DCDP Chef plays a crucial role in our organization by overseeing the preparation and cooking of continental cuisine, ensuring high standards of food quality, presentation, and taste. They are responsible for contributing to menu planning, managing kitchen operations, and maintaining a safe and hygienic culinary environment.Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook continental dishes according to standard recipes
  • Contribute to menu planning and development
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff
  • Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels
  • Oversee the proper storage of food and ingredients
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
  • Collaborate with the head chef on special events and promotions
  • Assist in creating innovative and visually appealing dishes
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations
  • Manage food costing and portion control
  • Provide leadership and support to the culinary team
  • Assist in maintaining kitchen equipment and facilities
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in kitchen operations
  • Execute and supervise food presentations
Required Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a continental DCDP chef or similar role
  • Diploma in culinary arts or relevant field
  • Advanced knowledge of continental cuisine
  • Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of creativity and innovation
  • Solid organizational and time management abilities
  • Familiarity with inventory management software
  • Up-to-date knowledge of culinary trends and techniques
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team
  • Precision and attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends
  • Physical stamina and dexterity
  • Certification in food safety is a plus
