Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced
Scala Developer
with strong expertise in building high-performance, scalable, and reliable applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in functional programming, distributed systems, and cloud-based environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain applications using
    Scala
    on the JVM.
  • Build scalable, secure, and high-performance systems using
    functional programming concepts
    .
  • Work with
    Akka, Play Framework, and Spark
    for building distributed and data-driven applications.
  • Develop and integrate
    RESTful/GraphQL APIs
    and microservices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, DevOps, and QA.
  • Ensure best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide technical mentorship when required.

Required Skills:

  • Strong programming skills in
    Scala
    and solid understanding of
    Java/JVM
    .
  • Hands-on experience with
    functional programming
    concepts.
  • Proficiency with frameworks like
    Akka, Play Framework, and Spark
    .
  • Good knowledge of
    SQL/NoSQL databases
    (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra).
  • Experience with
    Git, CI/CD pipelines, and build tools (sbt, Maven, Gradle)
    .
  • Understanding of
    microservices architecture
    and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).
  • Experience with testing frameworks such as
    ScalaTest
    or
    Specs2
    .

Good to Have:

  • Exposure to
    Kafka, Hadoop, or Spark Streaming
    .
  • Experience with
    Docker/Kubernetes
    for containerization and orchestration.
  • Knowledge of performance tuning and optimization in distributed systems.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in an
    Agile/Scrum environment
    .
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
