Job Description
We are seeking an experienced
Big Data Engineer
with strong expertise in
Scala and Spark
to design, develop, and optimize large-scale data processing applications. The role involves working in an agile environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring efficient, reliable, and high-performing data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain data processing applications using Spark and Scala.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements and design efficient solutions.
  • Implement test-driven deployment practices for high-quality delivery.
  • Deploy artifacts from lower to higher environments, ensuring smooth transitions.
  • Troubleshoot and debug Spark performance issues to optimize data processing.
  • Work in an Agile/Scrum setup, participating in sprint planning, development, and timely delivery.
  • Provide production batch support, identify critical issues, and apply quick fixes.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of Scala programming language.
  • Proven expertise in Apache Spark development and performance optimization.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and debug Spark jobs for performance improvements.
  • Good understanding of design patterns and data structures for efficient data processing.
  • Familiarity with database concepts and SQL.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices (good to have).
