Assistant Logistics Manager

Job Summary:
Import-Export operations of the organization, including physical handling of import shipments keeping compliance with custom laws, notifications, tariffs, and EXIM policy.
Key Responsibilities:
Ø Handling Exports – Import related formalities.
Ø Managing correspondences with the buyers & sellers.
Ø Follow-ups with the suppliers for timely delivery of the product and necessary documents.
Ø Negotiating freight rates with the agents.
Ø Insurance claim activities
Ø Co-ordinating with CHAs & Freight forwarders for timely execution of shipment
Ø Checking & Approving suppliers bills, Freight forwarders, Clearing House Agents [CHA],
Ø Ensure Commercial compliance before shipments/dispatches including letter of credit, foreign remittance and FEMA compliance
Ø Liaison with Custom Authorities, Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Freight Forwarders, Shipping Agencies, Insurance Companies, Transporters & Movers, and so on from time-to-time for getting better service and remaining up to date
Ø Provide guidance for pickup of export cargo from factory, draft BL scrutiny and issue BL according to LC. Documents to be scrutinize under L/C before submitting it to the bank.
Ø To be in command of customer care of and regular interaction with international customers for day-to-day shipments via air/sea and to provide feedback on current orders.
Managerial responsibilities
Ø Plan, manage and evaluate logistics operations liaising with internal stakeholders, suppliers, logistics providers, transportation companies and customers
Ø Create and implement best practice logistics principles, policies and processes across the organization to improve operational and financial performance
