Senior Application QA Engineer

Role Summary

FinOpsly is scaling rapidly—and with that growth comes the need to build the scaffolding that lets us move fast and safe. We are seeking a hands-on engineering lead to establish and drive our quality assurance practice for a multi-tenant SaaS platform. This is not just a testing role—you will be responsible for owning application quality across the stack (frontend, backend, APIs, infrastructure, and AI/ML workflows), while mentoring engineers and embedding QA into every stage of the development life cycle.

As a senior member of the team, you'll combine hands-on automation expertise with leadership in defining QA processes, building reusable frameworks, and ensuring that every release is stable, performant, and secure.

What You'll do:

• Define and implement the QA strategy, quality gates, and processes for SaaS application development.
• Build automation frameworks for:
• Frontend apps (e.g., React, Angular) with Cypress/Playwright (UI + regression).
• Backend services & APIs (e.g., , Python, PHP, Java) with Postman, REST Assured, or PyTest.
• Databases & storage (e.g., SQL Server, Snowflake, cloud object stores) to validate data integrity.
• Infrastructure/DevOps (cloud environments, Terraform/CloudFormation, Docker/Kubernetes) through IaC validation and smoke tests.
• AI/ML pipelines (Python, TensorFlow/PyTorch, LLM integrations) using frameworks like Great Expectations or PyTest.
• Partner with engineering, DevOps, and product teams to ensure quality is embedded into CI/CD workflows (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab).
• Establish and track QA metrics (defect leakage, test coverage, pass/fail trends) through dashboards and reports.
• Lead defect triage, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement loops.
• Mentor junior QA engineers and collaborate across teams to promote a culture of quality-first development.

What You'll Bring

·      5–8+ years of QA experience, with at least 2–3 years in a senior or lead QA role.

·      Strong track record ensuring quality in SaaS applications.

·      Hands-on experience with UI, API, and backend automation.

·      Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline integration for automated QA.

·      Understanding of DevOps and infrastructure quality checks (IaC, environment validation).

·      Exposure to AI/ML application validation (data pipelines, model outputs, golden datasets) is a plus.

·      Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred:

·      Knowledge of security and performance testing tools (e.g., OWASP ZAP, JMeter, Locust).

·      Familiarity with cloud QA practices (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

·      Experience with compliance-driven quality frameworks (SOC2, PCI, GDPR).

What Success Looks Like

·      Within 6 weeks:

o  QA strategy and quality processes are defined.

o  Automation framework skeletons are live for UI + API validation.

o  Nightly CI/CD-integrated test runs are in place, with reporting.

o  At least one production-critical defect is caught in staging before release.

·      Within 6 months:

o  Regression suites cover all high-value SaaS workflows (UI → API → DB).

o  Infrastructure and environment checks prevent misconfigurations in production.

o  AI/ML data pipelines and models are validated with automated quality gates.

o  Defect leakage drops significantly, while release velocity improves.

o  You are recognized as the go-to quality expert, influencing architecture and delivery decisions.
