Team leadership and supervision

Supervise, train, and mentor a team of maintenance technicians and contractors during the shift.

Delegate tasks and assign work orders based on priority, urgency, and staff skill levels.

Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and feedback to team members.

Manage shift schedules, monitor attendance, and approve time-off requests to ensure adequate staffing.

Promote a positive, high-energy work environment and resolve any conflicts that arise.

Maintenance and operational duties

Preventive and predictive maintenance:

Develop and execute PM schedules to maximize equipment uptime and reliability. Track maintenance activities using Equipment Management System (EMS).

Repairs and installations:

Oversee and, when necessary, perform hands-on repairs, upgrades, and new equipment installations. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.

Problem-solving:

Act as the primary point of contact for all maintenance-related issues during the shift. Conduct root-cause analysis for equipment failures to prevent repeat incidents.

Inventory management:

Monitor the inventory of spare parts and tools, placing new orders as needed to prevent supply shortages.

Reporting:

Prepare and submit shift reports detailing completed work, ongoing issues, and equipment performance metrics (KPIs).

Shift handover:

Communicate clearly with the incoming shift manager and production teams to ensure a smooth transition of tasks and a clear understanding of pending issues.

Safety and compliance

Enforce strict adherence to all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines

Lead safety initiatives, conduct routine inspections, and perform risk assessments for all maintenance tasks.

Ensure that all documentation related to safety, maintenance logs, and regulatory compliance is accurately maintained.
