The Manager, Biometrics is responsible for managing all aspects of data management and data management programming activities for the Biometrics team based in India. The Manager of Biometrics is responsible for assigned direct reports, ensuring all time frames and targets are met. Direct report oversight may include any of the following roles: Clinical Data Associates, Lead Data Managers, Clinical Database Programmers, Technical Programmers, and/or Statistical Programmers. This position provides functional expertise, leadership and direction while ensuring adequate staffing, training, and delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Onboarding of new employees, including training on procedures and systems
- Mentor, monitor, and supervise direct reports (including monitoring time reporting and training requirements)
- Responsible for the hiring, promotion, transfer, and release of staff; participate in candidate interviews
- Conduct performance reviews and assist with goal setting of direct reports
- Provide input on resource planning and assignments
- Review metrics for department performance; identify and address risks or areas of concern
- Implement and maintain performance metrics
- Identify and drive process improvements
- Provide leadership, strategic management and ensure overall quality of biometrics activities
- Strong understanding of departmental and company procedures; ability to guide others on procedures
- Participate in the development and revision of department SOPs
- Perform other duties as requested by management
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Working knowledge of clinical research best practices preferred
- Good knowledge of medical terminology
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail are required
- Minimum of 6 years direct experience in Biometrics within a CRO/ Pharma environment, working on global trials
- The ideal candidate will have 2 years of management/leadership experience, leading teams' representative of diversity in India.
