Job Purpose

To manage day-to-day HR operations at the factory, ensure statutory compliance, support manpower planning, handle employee relations, and maintain smooth coordination between management and shop-floor employees.

Key Responsibilities

1. Recruitment & Manpower Management

  • Coordinate with department heads to understand manpower requirements.
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment for factory-level staff (operators, supervisors, technicians, helpers).
  • Maintain attendance, overtime records, shift schedules, and workforce planning.

2. Statutory Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure compliance with labor laws: PF, ESIC, Bonus, Gratuity, PT, Minimum Wages, Contract Labour Act, etc.
  • Maintain statutory registers and support external audits/inspections.
  • Ensure proper documentation of employee records, ID cards, joining kits, and personnel files.

3. Payroll & Attendance Management

  • Manage biometric attendance system.
  • Verify and compile monthly attendance, overtime, leaves, and shift records for payroll processing.
  • Coordinate with accounts/payroll team for accurate salary disbursement.

4. Employee Relations (ER) & Communication

  • Address worker grievances, conflicts, and shop-floor issues professionally.
  • Support in maintaining discipline and ensuring adherence to factory rules.
  • Conduct regular interaction with workers, supervisors, and contract labor teams.

5. Training & Development

  • Coordinate induction and training programs for new employees.
  • Maintain training records and skill-matrix for workers.
  • Identify training needs and support improvement programs.

6. Health, Safety & Welfare Activities

  • Coordinate with HSE team for safety training, safety drills, and compliance.
  • Ensure availability of PPE, first-aid materials, and welfare facilities.
  • Organize safety awareness and employee welfare activities (festivals, events, recognition programs).

7. Performance Management

  • Support implementation of KPIs and performance review systems for staff.
  • Assist managers in tracking employee performance and discipline issues.

8. HR Reporting & MIS

  • Prepare HR reports: manpower, attendance, turnover, overtime, training, payroll inputs, etc.
  • Maintain HR dashboards and support management decision-making.

Required Qualifications

  1. Education

  2. Bachelor's Degree in HR / BBA / B.Com / BA / Industrial Relations (mandatory).

  3. MBA / PGDM in HR preferred.

2.Experience

  • 1 to 5 years of HR experience in a
    factory / manufacturing / plant environment
    .
  • Experience in statutory compliance & payroll handling is essential.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of
    Factory HR practices
    and labor laws.
  • Good communication skills (Hindi/English; local language preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal & conflict-management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, HRMS, and attendance systems.
  • Ability to handle worker grievances calmly and professionally.
  • Detail-oriented, disciplined, and able to work independently on the shop floor.
  • Willingness to coordinate with multiple departments like Production, QA, Maintenance, Safety, etc.

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to work in factory environment and visit shop floor daily.
  • Ability to manage contract workers and contractors.
  • Ready to work extended hours during peak operations if required.
