Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Senior SQL Server Database Administrator to join our team. This role requires a highly self-motivated professional who can work independently in dynamic environments while ensuring optimal database performance, reliability, and security across our infrastructure.

• Database Architecture & Performance
• Design, build, and deploy high-performance SQL Server database systems with scalability and efficiency as primary considerations
• Conduct comprehensive performance tuning and optimization of existing database environments
• Implement and maintain database monitoring solutions to proactively identify performance bottlenecks Database Maintenance & Operations
• Deploy and manage Ola Hallengren maintenance scripts for automated backup, integrity checks, and index maintenance
• Establish and maintain robust backup and recovery procedures across all database environments
• Monitor database health, capacity planning, and resource allocation
• Troubleshoot complex database issues and implement effective solutions High Availability & Disaster Recovery
• Design and implement SQL Server replication solutions including transactional, merge, and snapshot replication
• Configure and manage Always On Availability Groups for high availability scenarios
• Set up and optimize read replicas to improve application performance and distribute query workloads
• Develop and test comprehensive disaster recovery plans and procedures Cloud Database Management
• Manage and optimize cloud-based SQL Server instances, with emphasis on AWS RDS for SQL Server
• Implement cloud database best practices for security, performance, and cost optimization
• Handle migration projects from on-premises to cloud environments or vice versa.
• Configure and manage automated backup, patching, and monitoring in cloud environments Security & Compliance
• Implement and maintain database security policies, user access controls, and authentication methods
• Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and industry standards
• Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
• Manage encryption at rest and in transit for sensitive data
  
  Required Qualifications Experience & Technical Skills
• Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator
• Expert-level knowledge of SQL Server versions 2016 and later
• Proven experience with Ola Hallengren maintenance solution implementation and customization
• Advanced skills in SQL Server replication technologies and Always On Availability Groups
• Strong experience with AWS RDS for SQL Server (preferred) or other cloud database platforms
• Proficiency in T-SQL, PowerShell, and database automation scripting Performance & Optimization Expertise
• Deep understanding of SQL Server internals, query optimization, and execution plans
• Experience with performance monitoring tools (SQL Server Profiler, Extended Events, DMVs)
• Knowledge of indexing strategies, statistics management, and query tuning methodologies
• Familiarity with third-party monitoring tools (SQLSentry, SentryOne, Redgate, etc.) Professional Attributes
• Highly self-motivated with ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Comfortable adapting quickly to new environments and technology stacks
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• Microsoft SQL Server certifications (MCSA, MCSE, or Azure certifications)
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL)
