Assistant Professor Marketing

The Assistant Professor of Marketing is responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses in marketing, conducting high-quality research, and contributing to academic and institutional service. The role requires a strong foundation in marketing theory, the ability to engage students through effective pedagogy, and an active research agenda aligned with the institutions mission.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning

  • Teach undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses in marketing (e.g., Principles of Marketing, Consumer Behavior, Digital Marketing, Brand Management, Marketing Research, Sales Management).
  • Design and update course content in line with current industry practices and academic standards.
  • Use innovative teaching methods, including case studies, simulations, experiential learning, and technology-enabled instruction.
  • Evaluate student performance through assignments, exams, projects, and presentations.
  • Mentor and advise students on academic and career development.

Research & Scholarly Activities

  • Conduct original research in marketing and related areas.
  • Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at national and international conferences.
  • Seek research funding and grants, where applicable.
  • Supervise student research projects, dissertations, or theses.

Service & Institutional Contribution

  • Participate in departmental, college, and university committees.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and academic quality assurance initiatives.
  • Support accreditation, rankings, and academic audits.
  • Engage in industry interaction, consultancy, or outreach activities as required.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Ph.D. in Marketing or a closely related discipline from a recognized university (or submitted/near completion, depending on institutional norms).
  • Strong academic background in marketing and management studies.
  • Demonstrated potential for high-quality research and publication.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.

Desirable

  • Teaching experience at the undergraduate or postgraduate level.
  • Publications in reputed journals.
  • Industry experience or exposure to contemporary marketing practices.
  • Experience with digital marketing tools, analytics, or emerging marketing technologies.
