In the role of the Technical Engineer the person shall report to Sr. Engineer, Forge.Labs and engage in a scope of work spanning technical, operational, and administrative aspects relating to the broad Key Result Areas (KRAs) covering Technical Skills Training, Technical Support for Product Design and Development, Managing Lab Infrastructure & Operations, Technical Operations & General Administration.

Position & Designation

Grade - Associate

Technical Engineer designated in Forge at the grade of Associate is responsible for the technical infrastructure of few Innovation CoEs and Technology Labs, while being deputed in any one of the centers operated by Forge and for offering end-to-end technical expertise and support for all training and innovation programs offered in those CoEs/Labs.

Compensation

Forge compensation is at par with the top end of the social enterprises sector in India and continuously benchmarked to be above the average compensation offered in the social (non-commercial or development) sector in general but significantly above the average compensation offered by TBIs.

The Total CTC will include 3 major components namely, Fixed Monthly Gross, Fixed Quarterly Payout, and Annual Development Bonus (linked to demonstration of progress on developing and strengthening capabilities in alignment with the Career Advancement and Capabilities Development framework of Forge).

Role & Responsibilities - Key Result Areas

Technical Support for Product Design & Development

• Offer Technical support in their respective area at the level of 'practitioner' to innovators/startups in achieving accelerated implementation of product design, development and verification activities;
• Support the Innovation teams, consisting of student/graduate trainees on all aspects of product design, prototype development, technical documentation, selection, and usage of the right tools and implementation of the right techniques for testing, and verification etc.
• Be an active part of the Technical Associates team to ensure all innovation projects actively managed under achieve on-time delivery, within the estimated budget, and in full compliance to the stated product design/requirements;
• Coach and provide guidance to the student/graduate innovators to strengthen their basics and understanding of all critical technical concepts relating to various tools, equipment, and systems;

Support Innovation/Technology Lab infrastructure and operations

• Support the set of Innovation CoEs and Technology Labs in any one or more centers operated by Forge that are assigned based on the relevance to the person's core technical expertise areas;
• Constantly understand the upcoming trends in the technology domains and come up with recommendations on lab upgrades along with proper justification, budget estimates etc.
• Practice safe work habits, including complying with all safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations;

Technical Skills Training and Competencies Development

• Support the Product/Program Managers of Forge.Academy in the process of developing Training Products in the core technology domains aimed at enhancing innovation competencies in students and professionals;
• Contribute in the selection and admission process for all forms or formats of training programs relevant to the specific technical expertise areas;
• Play the role of a technical mentor to the trainees for both students and professionals;

Technical Operations

• Support in all technical activities involved in the procurement of technical infrastructure and setting the lab
• Monitor the usage of equipment, consumables, and supplies used by innovators/startups and other authorized users of the Forge.Labs to be within the stipulated limits;
• Engage directly with the external stakeholders within technology partners and vendors in all matters related to the technical infrastructure, and effectively coordinate with different internal stakeholders to complete tasks in a timely manner;
• Responsible for all matters related to overall administration of their respective technology labs, including recruitment, training, and competencies development of Technical Associates;

Preferred

• Minimum bachelor's qualification (B.E) in Mechatronics or Electrical/Electronics
• 2+ years of experience in Manufacturing/Lab set-ups with a focus on hardwares
• Experience in building rapid prototypes
• Experience in bringing products to market in a fast-paced environment.
• Hands-on experience with electromechanical, IoT, Robotic, Automation, IOT, PCB Design systems preferred
• Understanding of engineering concepts such as system architecture, implementation, testing and maintenance is highly preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
• Ability to lead, mentor, and delegate to other engineers and technicians is required
• Passionate in teaching, mentoring students, and entrepreneurship.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹15, ₹25,000.00 per month
