Tech Intern at RISA Fellows

Cancer patients face not just a disease, but a broken system where delays in treatment are common due to outdated, error-prone workflows. RISA Labs is changing that with our Business Operating System as a Service (BOSS) - a powerful platform built for the vertical complexity of healthcare, that transforms healthcare operations. Unlike simple automation tools, BOSS breaks down complex workflows into small tasks, managed by smart AI agents like LLMs, digital twins, and reinforcement learners. This creates a digital workforce that doubles the efficiency of healthcare teams, letting a 1,000-person institution operate like it has 2,000 staff overnight.

RISA was founded by Kshitij Jaggi and Kumar Shivang, IIT Kanpur alumni with a proven track record from their previous healthcare startup, Urban Health. Their vision is to streamline oncology care through cutting-edge technology.

RISA Labs is backed by $3.5 million in seed funding, led by Flipkart co-founder Binny Bansal, with support from Oncology Ventures, General Catalyst, z21 Ventures, Odd Bird VC, and angel investor Ashish Gupta.

RISA Fellows is an internship program designed to give ambitious students and recent graduates hands-on experience in tech roles at the cutting edge of AI-driven systems. As a fellow, you will work on real-world projects, gain exposure to cross-functional teams, and contribute to our mission of revolutionizing industries like healthcare, insurance, and life sciences through automation and intelligent infrastructure.

We are looking for a Tech Intern to join us for the summer as part of the RISA Fellows program. In this role, you'll work on a variety of technical projects, including software development, data analysis, machine learning, or infrastructure engineering, depending on your skillset and interests. You'll collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and product teams to build solutions that power RISA Labs' platform.

• Software Development: Contribute to the development of new features for our platform by writing clean, efficient code and collaborating with engineers to deliver solutions.
• Machine Learning & Data Science: Assist with machine learning tasks, such as data preprocessing, model development, and evaluation, to contribute to AI-driven solutions in healthcare and other sectors.
• Infrastructure Engineering: Work on backend systems, APIs, and data pipelines to ensure that RISA Labs' platform runs smoothly and efficiently.
• Research & Innovation: Participate in research and innovation tasks to explore new technologies or approaches that can improve the functionality and scalability of our platform.
• Collaboration with Teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements, share progress updates, and contribute to problem-solving.
• Documentation & Reporting: Document technical processes, create reports, and contribute to presentations that showcase your work and findings to the team.

• Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript (experience with frameworks like React or is a plus)
• Familiarity with machine learning concepts and tools such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) or familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure is a plus
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software development principles
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to break down complex problems and find practical solutions
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team
• Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and tackle new challenges in a dynamic environment
• Bonus: Familiarity with healthcare, life sciences, or AI-driven products is a plus
