Role Summary
Seeking an experienced
Application DBA
with strong scripting skills in
Python
and
Shell
to design, implement, and maintain high-performing, secure, and resilient database systems. The ideal candidate will play a key role in automating DBA tasks and supporting performance optimization efforts in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain relational database systems with a focus on availability, security, and performance.
  • Develop and optimize schemas, queries, stored procedures, and indexing strategies.
  • Automate routine administration tasks using Python and Shell scripting.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot database issues proactively.
  • Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to meet application-specific database needs.
  • Manage user roles, permissions, and access control in compliance with security standards.
  • Ensure data integrity and compliance with internal and industry regulations.
  • Document architecture, configurations, and maintenance procedures.
  • Handle database incidents and provide timely support and resolution.

Must-Have Skills

  • 5–7 years of experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role.
  • Strong expertise in relational databases such as Greenplum, Db2, or Singlestore.
  • Advanced scripting skills in Python and Shell.
  • Proven experience with performance tuning, query optimization, and monitoring tools.
  • Deep understanding of backup, recovery, and high availability strategies.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Nice To Have

  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
