Job Title: L2/L3 Network Protocol Test Engineer

Experience: 4 to 6 years

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and execute test cases and test plans for L2/L3 networking features.
  • Perform functional, regression, performance, and scalability testing for network devices (routers, switches, firewalls).
  • Validate protocols such as Ethernet, VLAN, STP, RSTP, MSTP, ARP, IP, ICMP, RIP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, LDP, QoS, DHCP, PPPoE, etc.
  • Use traffic generators and packet analyzers (e.g., IXIA, Spirent, Wireshark, Scapy) to generate and analyze network traffic.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects using bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla).
  • Work closely with development teams to troubleshoot issues and verify fixes.
  • Participate in test automation initiatives and scripting using Python, Tcl, or similar languages.
  • Contribute to test strategy, test environment setup, and continuous integration processes.

Technical Skills:

  • 46 years of hands-on experience in L2/L3 network protocol testing.
  • Strong understanding of OSI model, switching & routing fundamentals.
  • Experience with protocols like STP, RSTP, OSPF, BGP, RIP, ARP, VLAN, IPv4/IPv6, MPLS, LDP.
  • Hands-on experience with network devices (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Arista) and Linux-based systems.
  • Experience with network test tools like IXIA, Spirent, Wireshark, Ostinato.
  • Proficiency in writing test scripts (Python, Shell, Perl, or Tcl).
  • Familiarity with test management and bug tracking tools (JIRA, TestRail, etc.).
  • Good understanding of automation frameworks and CI/CD concepts.

Notice period : 60 Days

Location: Hyderabad

Mode of Work : 5 DAY WFO
