Job Summary:
We are looking for a talented and forward-thinking Robotics Engineer to join our automotive engineering team. In this role, you will design, develop, and implement robotic systems and automation technologies for vehicle production, assembly, or autonomous driving applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in robotics, control systems, mechatronics, and software development, with hands-on experience in automotive environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement robotic automation systems for automotive assembly lines or vehicle subsystems.
- Develop motion planning, control algorithms, and path optimization for robotic manipulators and mobile robots.
- Integrate and calibrate robot arms (e.g., KUKA, FANUC, ABB) with sensors, vision systems, and actuators.
- Work on robot-based inspection, welding, painting, pick-and-place, or material handling applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, software) for system integration.
- Program and debug robot controllers, PLCs, and real-time embedded systems.
- Perform system modeling, simulation, and testing using tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, ROS, or Gazebo.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards (ISO 10218, ANSI/RIA R15.06) and industrial best practices.
- Support installation, commissioning, and maintenance of robotic systems in production environments.
- Document designs, validation reports, and technical specifications for knowledge transfer and compliance.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency in robot programming (e.g., RAPID, KRL, PDL2, or other OEM-specific languages).
- Strong knowledge of robot kinematics, dynamics, control systems, and path planning.
- Hands-on experience with industrial robots (e.g., ABB, KUKA, FANUC, Yaskawa).
- Familiarity with machine vision systems, LiDAR, IMU, or 3D sensors for autonomous or inspection-based robotics.
- Experience with PLC integration and industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, ProfiNet).
- Proficient in C/C++, Python, MATLAB/Simulink, and/or ROS (Robot Operating System).
Preferred / Bonus Skills:
- Experience in Autonomous Vehicles (ADAS, perception, SLAM, path planning).
- Exposure to AI/ML algorithms for robotics or computer vision (OpenCV, TensorFlow).
- Knowledge of digital twin or robot simulation platforms (Gazebo, V-REP, Webots, RoboDK).
- Familiarity with AGVs, AMRs, or collaborative robots (cobots).
- Understanding of functional safety (ISO and industrial safety standards.
- Experience working in high-volume automotive manufacturing environments.
