Job summary

A Senior Rebar Detailer at ODE Consultant is responsible for developing detailed reinforcement plans and shop drawings for concrete structures, ensuring that all designs align with engineering specifications and support construction activities on-site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop Detailed Rebar Drawings: Prepare high-quality, accurate reinforcing steel placement drawings and bar bending schedules by interpreting engineers' plans and specifications.
  • 3D Modeling & BIM Coordination: Utilize Revit and RebarCAD 3D to create and manage structural models, ensuring seamless integration with the overall design and construction workflow.
  • Project Setup: Demonstrate the ability to set up projects in 2D or 3D based on specific requirements.
  • Quality Assurance: Review and check drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with structural engineers, architects, and construction teams to resolve detailing issues and ensure constructability.
  • Documentation: Generate and maintain all necessary documentation, including shop drawings, bar lists, and revision logs.
  • Mentorship: Guide and support junior detailers, providing technical expertise and quality control.
  • Standardize the process: Standardize the process to ensure quality by aligning the workflow with the client's requirements.

Key Requirements

  • Experience: Extensive experience (typically 4+ years) in rebar detailing for concrete structures, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
  • Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in AutoCAD, Revit, Rebar CAD, and other relevant CAD/BIM software.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of structural engineering principles, reinforcement detailing standards code, and construction practices.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to produce precise, error-free drawings that ensure structural integrity and ease of construction.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective coordination with multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in advanced BIM software tools.

· Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Familiarity with international codes and project delivery method
  • Deep understanding of structural engineering principles, reinforcement detailing standards code, and construction practices
  • 3-5 years of experience in rebar detailing for concrete structures.
  • Experience in 3D modeling and BIM coordination using Revit and Rebar CAD 3D.
  • Experience in generating and maintaining all necessary documentation, including shop drawings, bar lists, and revision logs.
  • Should have good exposure in UK Projects
