Design Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Research on electronic components and design new products (transformers) to meet market needs.
• Support complete R&D project life cycle and participate in all phases from concept to manufacturing through designing, prototyping, validation and production of R&D products, taking into account the functionality, feasibility, quality, manufacturability, costs, and completion time.
• Provide concise and informative demo/presentations of design concepts to other team members or product managers.
• Finalize a design and its deliverables to facilitate a smooth transition to the relevant stakeholders.
• Prepare product documentation like bill of material, material specification and process documentation.
• Evaluate processes and design improvements.
• Coordinate with the Global R&D team.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering or Technology (Electrical/Electronics) from a recognized University/Institution.
• 3 to 6 years of industry relevant product design experience.
• Understanding & knowledge in AutoCAD Electrical.
• Experience with regulatory compliances (EMC) and industrial standards would be advantageous.
• Familiar with schematics capture / layout design tools and electronics measurement instruments (oscilloscope, data logger).
• Good understanding of product safety, environmental testing and EMC would be advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of electronics fundamental and principles.
• Strong passion for product design.
• Knowledge and experience in DFMEA and PFMEA.
• Understanding the trade-offs between cost and performance.
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Creativity and self-motivated.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
