Engineering Supervisor

We are looking for an experienced and driven Engineering Supervisor to join our R&D Centre in Sulur Taluk (Trichy Road vicinity). In this leadership role, you will oversee production processes, guide a multi-disciplinary team, and ensure customer needs are effectively translated into practical and scalable design solutions. You will play a pivotal role in driving innovation, optimizing operations, and delivering high-quality products that meet market demands.

Role & responsibilities

• Manage manpower, equipment, raw materials, and resources to achieve production objectives.
• Research electronic components and design new products (transformers) to meet evolving customer and market needs.
• Provide strategic direction across the full R&D project lifecycle from concept, design, and prototyping to validation and production ensuring functionality, feasibility, quality, cost efficiency, and timely delivery.
• Present design concepts and demos effectively to team members, managers, and stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize yield, quality, productivity, and cost.
• Evaluate processes and implement workflow policies to balance productivity gains with cost reduction, without compromising safety or quality.
• Lead process evaluation and design improvements to enhance manufacturability and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with the Global R&D team.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors degree in Engineering or Technology (Electrical/Electronics) from a recognized university/institution.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience in design or production, preferably in a manufacturing or R&D environment.
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of electronics fundamentals and principles, with passion for product design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, schematic capture/layout design tools, and use of electronics measurement instruments (oscilloscopes, data loggers).
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance (EMC), product safety, and environmental testing (advantageous).
• Knowledge and application of DFMEA and PFMEA methodologies.
• Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and crisis-management abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Creative, self-motivated, and highly organized.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
