JD-Junior Design Engineer – UPVC Doors & Windows & UNICEIL

Designation:

Junior Design Engineer

Experience:

Minimum of 2 Years

Qualification:

• B.E. / B.Tech – Mechanical Engineering
• Diploma in Mechanical / Tool & Die Engineering

Software Proficiency:

• Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent CAD software

Core Knowledge Requirements:

• GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
• Understanding of plastics, extrusion-based products (UPVC & UNICEIL systems)
• Material selection and application (profiles, reinforcements, accessories)
• Shop drawings, BOQ generation, and manufacturing documentation
• Basics of tooling and fabrication feasibility

Position Overview

We are hiring Junior Design Engineers to support design, drafting, and production documentation for our UPVC Doors & Windows systems and UNICEIL Linear Ceiling Solutions. The role will require 2D technical drawing creation, GD&T-based detailing, and interdepartmental collaboration for project execution. This is an excellent opportunity to grow in a cross-functional design and development environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. 2D Drafting & Technical Drawings

• Create detailed 2D CAD drawings for UPVC windows, doors, and UNICEIL linear profile systems
• Apply GD&T principles for dimensioning and tolerance management

2. Material Selection & Component Detailing

• Recommend suitable profiles, reinforcements, accessories, and hardware based on design/application
• Ensure selected materials align with fabrication and project standards

3. Shop Drawings & Documentation

• Prepare production-level shop drawings for fabrication and installation
• Generate BOQs, cut lists, and part lists for procurement and assembly

4. Manufacturing Feasibility & Optimization

• Coordinate with the production team to validate manufacturability of designs
• Suggest improvements to optimize profile utilization and reduce material waste

5. Cross-functional Collaboration

• Work with the Design, Quality, and Production teams to ensure design accuracy and feasibility
• Participate in review meetings and update documentation based on feedback

6. Site Coordination & Technical Support

• Support project engineers with drawing clarifications at fabrication or installation sites
• Help resolve technical issues during execution phases

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Minimum 1 year of work experience in design/drafting or relevant internship
• Strong foundation in mechanical design and plastics-based systems
• Ability to read architectural drawings and convert into production-ready designs
• Basic English communication skills (verbal and written)
• Willingness to travel to fabrication units or project sites when required
• Good time management and attention to detail

Salary:

Up to ₹20,000 per month
