Purpose : 

Responsible for overall management of Stores. Ensure inventory control, timely issue and receive material.

INVENTORY MANAGEMENT : 
  • Analyze stock requirements and consumption trends.
  • Maintain re-order level and optimum inventory levels for each item in stock.
  • Raise indent for material as per re-order level / customer requirements.
  • Follow up with purchase department for the items which may fall short.
  • Receives and organizes inspection of all incoming materials and reconciles with purchase orders.
  • Organize quality inspections on the materials and control receiving of defected products.
  • Ship cancelled and damaged items back to vendors.
  • Carry out stock take and ensure physical stock matches with ERP stock.
  • Ensure timely generation and submission of MRNs.
  • Ensure NPA are under control and are not further generated.
  • Manage inter unit despatches as per inter unit order for store items.
  • Manage despatches to distributors / dealers for store items.
  • Ensure no material leaves premises without proper documentations.
  • Following up for open RGP / NRGP.
  • Update Corporate Purchase & Accounts Department stock position. (If applicable)
  • Records for all inwards and outwards inventory movements.
  • All business transaction should be recorded timely.
  • ​​​​​​​Ensure timely disposal of NPA / wastage.
  • Adherence to 5S norms.
​​​​​​​KPI : 
  • ​​​​​​​No. of stock outs / over stocking
  • Variance in Physical Vs ERP stock.
  • Wastage reduction Reduction of NPA
​​​​​​​CUSTOMER SATISFACTION : 
  • ​​​​​​​Ensure availability of materials as per requirement to shop floor and other departments.
  • ​​​​​​​Non-availability of Material
  • ​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​No. of Delays reported
​​​​​​​SAFETY
  • Safeguards thefts and material damage due to stocking / physical handling of material.
  • Ensuring 5S in Stores.
  • ​​​​​​​No. of thefts / losses.
  • 5S Audit Score
​​​​​​​ TEAM DEVELOPMENT :
  • ​​​​​​​Allocate work responsibility as to ensure minimum OT.
  • Conduct regular meeting with the team and helper to ensure smooth work flow.
  • Facilitate participation of workforce in continuous improvement activities.
  • Develop successor for Business Continuity.
  • ​​​​​​​OT in No.s for the department.
  • No. of Improvements suggested.
  • No. of Job rotation within the department.
​​​​​​​Key Decisions :
  • ​​​​​​​Decision on setting re-order levels and optimum inventory levels.
  • ​​​​​​​Decision on stock replenishment, raise indents and issue of Non-returnable Gate Pass / Returnable Gate Pass.
  • ​​​​​​​Decision on manpower requirement for managing stores.
  • ​​​​​​​Decision on dispatching material to units/ Channel.
​​​​​​​Working Relation : 
  • ​​​​​​​Establish close relation with suppliers to ensure smooth material flow.
  • ​​​​​​​Maintain close relationship with third party carriers, courier companies, contractors and logistic providers
  • ​​​​​​​Work closely with the Purchase, Accounts & Financial departments to ensure timely purchases and payments.
  • ​​​​​​​Establish effective relationships with other service departments such as Sales & Marketing, HR, IT, etc.
  • ​​​​​​​Maintain close relationship with Channel partners for smooth dispatch for packaging, publicity and other marketing material.
  • ​​​​​​​Establish close relationship with stores department of other units to ensure smooth transfer or material.
  • ​​​​​​​Close relation with Subordinates to ensure harmonious working conditions.
