Job Requirements

Roles and Responsibilities :

  • Works closely with site design team to implement utility specific requirements into site designs.
  • Prepare electrical interconnection application packages to utility companies
  • Pre-fill third party authorization forms
  • Complete Generating Facility Interconnection Application Forms
  • Prepare interconnection reports for new projects based on review of hosting capacity maps and preapplication

reports

  • Update internal documentation based on latest utility standards and requirements
  • Develop witness test procedures
  • Working on Site design activity
  • Preparing Single line diagrams (SLD), Conceptual drawings, and Schematic drawings in AutoCAD.
  • Review SLD, 3LD, wiring diagrams and control schematics for relay protection designs
  • Perform PSCAD system modeling and simulations
  • Implement processes and procedures to systemically improve the quality of interconnection

documents.

Work Experience

Required Skills and Experience:

  • BE / BTech in Electrical Engineering with minimum 3+ years of work experience in power generation,

distribution, or other relevant industry.

  • Working knowledge of relevant electrical codes & standards (IEEE, ANSI, NEC, CSA, NFPA, IEC, API)
  • Highly motivated self-starter and desire to learn new things.
  • Ability to look critically at a problem set, identify unique solutions, and influence change.
  • Ability to span the range from conceptual thinking in the design phase to hands-on practice in the

implementation phase, including instrument checks, wiring, panel build, etc.

  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively with multiple project and priorities.
  • Collaborate with others from diverse backgrounds to identify problems and find solutions.
  • Proactive and persistent with well-developed analytical skills.
  • Ability to professionally communicate with all types of people via phone, email, face-to-face and

videoconference interactions.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills up, down and across the organization, and outside the

company including the ability to define engineering requirements confidently and effectively

including to non-technical audiences.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • MSEE or PE license
  • Experience with electric utility interconnection approval processes.
  • Experience with Rule 21, IEEE 1547 and other interconnection standards.
  • Experience with PSCAD, PSS/E, AutoCAD, SKM, ETAP, and SEL AcSELerator software.
  • Proficient in MS Office & other Product Lifecycle Management software
  • Field experience commissioning power generation equipment.
  • Experience with power system studies, relay coordination, protection & control, and grounding

analysis.
