Estate Manager

Job Summary:
The Estate Manager will be responsible for the overall management, maintenance, and development of the university's infrastructure, including academic buildings, hostels, staff quarters, and campus facilities. The role includes supervising construction, renovation, repair works, and ensuring campus facilities remain safe, functional, and well-maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage civil, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical maintenance across campus.
- Plan, monitor, and execute construction, renovation, and repair projects in coordination with engineers, contractors, and consultants.
- Ensure proper upkeep of hostels, classrooms, laboratories, administrative buildings, and surrounding areas.
- Oversee campus facilities such as roads, gardens, water supply, drainage, and waste management.
- Manage tenders, quotations, and contracts for maintenance and development works as per university norms.
- Maintain detailed records of university properties, buildings, and assets.
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Coordinate with local authorities for electricity, water, and municipal services.
- Prepare annual maintenance budgets and monitor expenditures effectively.
- Supervise subordinate staff including supervisors, electricians, plumbers, and housekeeping teams.
- Submit periodic reports to the Registrar/Administrative Head on infrastructure status and requirements.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Educational Qualification (Mandatory):
- B.Tech / B.E. in Civil Engineering OR Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized institute/university.
- Master's Degree in Engineering / Project Management / Construction Management / MBA is desirable.
- Experience:
- Minimum 5–10 years of relevant experience in estate management, construction supervision, or facilities management — preferably in a university, government organization, or large educational institution.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Knowledge of civil, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, MS Project, and project management software.
- Understanding of tendering procedures, maintenance standards, and project documentation.

- Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High sense of responsibility, discipline, and integrity.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
