Job Description

Position Title: Senior Executive – Purchase

Location: Head Office (Nungambakkam, Chennai)

Department: Procurement / Purchase

Industry: Construction (Industrial Projects – Warehouses, Canteens, Factories, etc.)

Language Proficiency Mandatory: Hindi (Spoken) , English & Tamil (Read/Write/Speak)

Role Overview

The Senior Executive – Purchase will be responsible for managing the complete procurement process for industrial construction projects. The role involves vendor identification, material sourcing, price negotiation, and ensuring timely delivery of quality materials in line with project requirements and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

· Manage end-to-end procurement operations for industrial projects such as warehouses, canteens, and factory buildings.

· Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable vendors and subcontractors for various construction materials and services.

· Float enquiries, obtain quotations, prepare comparative statements, and finalize purchase orders.

· Negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules to achieve cost efficiency.

· Coordinate with project, planning, and accounts teams to ensure material availability as per project timelines.

· Maintain updated records of vendors, purchase orders, and price history.

· Monitor material quality and ensure adherence to specifications and standards.

· Assist in vendor evaluation and periodic performance review.

· Ensure compliance with company procedures and audit requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

· Education: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Preferred. Any Graduate with relevant experience can apply.

· Experience: 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in purchase/procurement within the construction industry.

· Exposure to industrial projects such as warehouses, canteens, and factory buildings is essential.

Skills & Competencies

· Strong negotiation and communication skills.

· Good understanding of construction materials, vendor management, and cost control.

· Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and ERP systems.

· Strong analytical, planning, and coordination abilities.

· Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.

Reporting To Manager - Purchase

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹35, ₹45,000.00 per month
