Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of construction processes and financial management, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget. This role requires excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, and overhead costs.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to assess project viability and budget requirements.
  • Monitor project expenses and provide regular reports on financial performance.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure accurate pricing and budgeting.
  • Manage procurement processes, including sourcing suppliers and negotiating contracts.
  • Oversee inventory management and control to optimize resource allocation.
  • Utilize software tools for cost estimation, project management, and reporting.
  • Provide training and development for junior staff in quantity surveying practices.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions related to projects.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in quantity surveying or a related field, with supervisory experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator for visual design tasks related to project presentations.
  • Strong knowledge of retail sales principles, merchandising strategies, and inventory control practices.
  • Familiarity with schematics, planograms, remodeling techniques, and interior design concepts is advantageous.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively while fostering a positive work environment.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with clients, contractors, and team members.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail in all aspects of work.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in customer service roles is beneficial for understanding client needs and expectations.
