Position Summary

The Senior Network Lead will be responsible for the design, management, and optimization of the global network infrastructure, including WAN, LAN, and Wireless environments across both on-premises and cloud-based systems. This role ensures network stability, performance, and security in support of global business operations and enterprise applications such as SAP.

The Senior Network Lead will collaborate closely with internal IT teams, managed service providers (MSPs), and external partners to maintain robust network performance, manage lifecycle activities, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the global network infrastructure, including WAN, LAN, and Wireless environments across all corporate and remote sites.
  • Work directly with WAN Managed Service Providers (MSPs) to coordinate deployment, support, and ongoing management of network services.
  • Oversee the onboarding, configuration, and support of Fortigate Firewalls, ensuring secure and reliable network connectivity.
  • Manage network lifecycle activities, including hardware refresh, firmware upgrades, and performance optimization.
  • Design, implement, and support VPN solutions for secure remote access and site-to-site connectivity.
  • Support cloud-based networking within Azure and other cloud environments, ensuring seamless integration with on-premise systems.
  • Maintain network documentation, including topology maps, configuration records, and change management logs.
  • Collaborate with security teams to ensure network compliance with organizational policies, standards, and audit requirements.
  • Monitor network performance and capacity, proactively identifying and resolving issues before they impact business operations.
  • Lead vendor relationships related to network infrastructure, hardware, and connectivity services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering or infrastructure management.
  • Strong technical expertise in WAN, LAN, WLAN, and VPN architecture and support.
  • Hands-on experience with Fortinet Fortigate Firewalls, Cisco or equivalent network technologies.
  • Experience managing network environments across hybrid (on-prem and cloud) infrastructures.
  • Proficiency with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, or equivalent).
  • Understanding of Azure networking, cloud routing, and secure hybrid connectivity.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a focus on reliability and performance optimization.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills for working with MSPs and internal stakeholders.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Fortinet NSE, CCNP, CompTIA Network+) preferred.
