An Operation and Production Head in agarbatti (incense) manufacturing is 
responsible for overseeing all aspects of production, ensuring efficient and quality output
.

This role involves scaling the plant 0 to operational within 3 months managing daily operations, maintaining quality control, optimizing costs, and building strong supply chains for raw materials and packaging.

They also play a crucial role in team management, compliance, and potentially expanding distribution channels

Experience Required:
 Minimum 
15+ years
 in FMCG / Consumer Goods / Manufacturing & Distribution;

(First preference:
  FMCG/
Agarbatti/Incense industry
 
experience across manufacturing, sourcing, fragrance, packaging, and distribution. Strong FMCG leaders from adjacent categories may be considered.)

Preferred candidate profile

Identifying the potential area to set up a factory with labour force availability of 100 + people

identifying the shed on rental/ lease

knowledge of machineries for packing

production and labour availability from ground Zero

Implement and maintain quality control measures to meet market standards and ensure consistent product quality.

Monitor and control production costs, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to reduce expenses.

Build and manage strong relationships with suppliers for raw materials like bamboo, jigat, perfume oils, and packaging materials.

Build, train, and manage a high-performing production team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Ensure adherence to relevant regulations and compliance norms, including GST, MSME, and environmental regulations.

Oversee the management of raw materials and finished goods inventory to optimize stock levels and minimize waste.

Develop and implement production schedules, ensuring timely delivery of products.

New Product Development:
May be involved in the development of new agarbatti products, including sourcing new fragrances and materials.

  • Compliance & Governance:
     Ensure adherence to 
    factory licensing, GST, MSME
    , 
    Pollution Control Board
     norms, labour laws, and packaging/product regulations. Champion ethical, transparent practices and brand integrity.
  • Achieve target 
    OEE
    , yield improvement & scrap reduction vs baseline.
  • Improve 
    COGS/ revenue
    ; deliver on-time

     launches.
  • OTIF 95%
    , distributor 
    fill rate
     at/above targets; expand state coverage as per plan.

  • Inventory turns
     and working-capital days within plan; 
    zero major compliance deviations
    .

  • Experience:
     Extensive experience in the agarbatti or incense industry, preferably with a focus on manufacturing and distribution.

  • Technical Skills:
     Understanding of agarbatti manufacturing processes, quality control procedures, and relevant machinery.

  • Business Acumen:
     Strong understanding of business principles, including cost management, supply chain management, and P&L

  • Communication Skills:
     Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-Solving:
     Ability to identify and resolve production issues effectively.
  • Compliance Knowledge:
     Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance requirements.
