Job Purpose:

Supervise design activities for highway projects by facilitating seamless collaboration with external consultants to ensure timely and accurate project deliverables. Contribute to maintaining compliance with standards, optimizing designs for efficiency, safety, and environmental considerations, thereby supporting successful project outcomes.

Engineering and Design Work:

• Directly coordinate with design consultant in the preparation of basic and detailed engineering work for highway projects, both for pre-bid and construction stages.

• Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to determine project requirements and constraints.

• Develop design solutions to meet client needs and project specifications under the guidance of the Highway Design Lead.

• Implement necessary design changes as required for projects under construction.

Project Documentation and Coordination:

• Revise project drawings as directed by the Highway Design Lead.

• Assist in the preparation of Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for civil works related to highway projects.

• Implement and maintain documentation management systems.

• Prepare technical documents for highway projects as required.

• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including surveyors, environmental specialists, and construction personnel, to ensure project alignment and successful execution.

• Communicate effectively with design consultants to gather requirements and ensure accurate implementation of design specifications.

Quality and Safety Compliance:

• Adhere to quality and safety policies and guidelines in all project-related activities.

• Ensure compliance with national and international standards and regulations like IRC Code, ICS Code, Contract Agreement, etc., under the supervision of the Highway Design Lead.

• Monitor and review the accuracy and completeness of design work.

• Identify and report potential design flaws and project risks to the Highway Design Lead.

Technical Support and Continuous Improvement:

• Provide technical support during the construction phase, addressing design-related issues and ensuring adherence to design specifications.

• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and standards.

• Assist the Highway Design Lead in various tasks to ensure seamless coordination and execution of project tasks.
