The Role:

Student Recruitment team will be responsible for the planning and implementation of effective recruitment strategies to build the University's brand and profile in key regions, and for meeting ambitious student number targets. The role holder will make a key contribution to building the University's brand and reputation in South Asia, securing the University's income through international student enrolments, engaging with multiple recruitment channels, stakeholders, and capitalizing on business development and partnership opportunities.

Working closely with the University's International team, the role holder will help to set and achieve challenging recruitment targets for South Asia and will be responsible for developing and delivering the associated recruitment strategy and tactics. In addition, they will play a crucial part in working with maintaining and developing

relationships with the University's key stakeholders in the region including key schools, colleges and agents. Preparation and delivery of presentations and workshops to students, agents and school counsellors, representing the University at education exhibitions and in- country events.

Key responsibilities:

  • Foster a collaborative team culture that prioritizes teamwork and a growth mindset resulting and increase our South Asian regional targets and KPIs and lead on the planning and execution of student recruitment initiatives.
  • Contribute to annual market recruitment plans for South Asia working closely with the regional team to provide high-quality market analysis and country-specific updates.
  • Adopting an analysis-led approach, providing advice on issues relating to the market to inform engagement activities and adjust planning and forecasting.
  • Work closely with students to support them through their entire student journey from the enquiry, application, offer, conversion and enrolment stage, including organising and supporting a agent workshops, info sessions for enquirers, applicants and offer holders, with a range of stakeholders.
  • Promote and develop an understanding of the University's programmes and USPs.
  • Respond promptly to parent, student and agent enquiries via email and social media platforms.
  • Support recruitment to our International Branch Campuses where applicable.
  • Manage marketing campaigns and contribute to the design of student- or partner focused materials.
  • Adopting an analysis-led approach, providing advice on issues relating to the market to inform engagement activities and adjust planning and forecasting.
  • Develop and maintain long term sustainable relationships with a wide range of key influencers, for example:

international schools, colleges, universities

 funding bodies (including government ministries, embassies, etc)

 British Council

 alumni

 educational agents and edtech partners

 partner institutions.

  • Submit briefing reports to a range of audiences providing statistical and trend analysis, benchmarking activities, market research, horizon scanning and competitor analysis.
  • Contribute towards broader initiatives as a member of of the University Global Recruitment and Admissions department to ensure and implement an excellent applicant and student experience.
  • Manage the University's current agent network in South Asia, developing new agent relationships in line with agreed objectives.
  • Contribute to the development of business cases and budget plans for forthcoming years, including requirements for overseas expenditure and partnerships.

​Person Specification:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably from UK or Ireland a master's degree is an advantage.
  • Understanding the opportunities and challenges affecting the global higher education market
  • Demonstrable (3+ years) student recruitment experience of working in South Asia.
  • Proven experience of planning and implementing effective recruitment and conversion plans to maximize student growth from priority markets
  • Knowledge of UK visas and immigration such as study visas.
  • Experience in managing an extensive agent network for student recruitment purposes.
  • Understand the importance of service delivery and show a willingness to work with colleagues across the institution to collectively work towards the strategic goals of university.
  • Highly developed written and oral communication and presentation skills, including use of digital and social media for business purposes.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize demanding workloads and meet deadlines in a pressurized environment.
  • Willingness to adopt a flexible working approach by working unsocial hours, weekends, or occasional public holidays when required.
  • Ability to undertake business-related travel in the market on an unrestricted basis (est 40%), and undertake visits to the UK for training and meetings.
  • The postholder must possess a valid passport.
  • The postholder should not have any business or family ties with educational agents.
