The Accounting Manager, Financial Operations, will play a key role in supporting core accounting processes
and operational initiatives within the organization. This position is part of the broader finance team at
Amherst. We are seeking a self-motivated, driven, intellectually curious accounting professional who is an
organized manager and can provide strong leadership to our Utilities team and ensure that the department
runs smoothly.
Job Description (Key Responsibilities):

Oversee and manage various aspects of the general ledger accounting function, ensuring accurate
and timely recording of financial transactions in compliance with accounting standards and
company policies.

Lead and support a team responsible for executing high-volume, deadline-driven accounting
operations

Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of General Ledger and Cash accounts on a monthly basis
Manage and coordinate the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including the
preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and internal financial reporting.

Skills & Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Finance, Business or Accounting with at least ten (10) years of experience in
General Ledger Accounting, including team leadership responsibilities
Experience working with a U.S.-based firm and engaging with U.S.-based stakeholders; experience
in Global Capability Centers is a plus

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of products, with an advanced knowledge of Excel
Deep analytical, business and technical skills with advanced working knowledge of the Finance
function, in particular, Accounts Payable, Financial Accounting, and General Ledger / ERP systems and
structures (chart of accounts, Finance data, accounting, and reporting rulesets)

Ability to think strategically, synthesize the most complex business/financial data and develop
innovative solutions

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to organize and prioritize multiple work
