Job Description – Assistant General
Manager (Finance)
Position: Assistant General Manager – Finance
Department: Finance & Accounts
Reporting to: General Manager –MD
Location: Mysore
Role Objective
To oversee and manage the financial health of the organization by ensuring effective
financial planning, reporting, compliance, and cost control, while supporting strategic
decision-making and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Planning & Analysis
Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
Monitor financial performance and variance analysis against budget.
Provide management with insights for cost optimization and profitability
improvement.
- Accounting & Reporting
Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial
statements.
Oversee general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, fixed assets, and payroll
accounting.
Implement internal controls for error-free financial reporting.
- Compliance & Audit
Ensure statutory compliance with Income Tax, GST, Companies Act, and other
regulations.
Liaise with statutory auditors, internal auditors, and regulatory authorities.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial legislation and accounting standards.
- Treasury & Fund Management
Manage banking relationships and oversee fund flow management.
Monitor working capital requirements and arrange funds as needed.
Optimize utilization of surplus funds and manage debt obligations.
- Strategic Support
Assist top management in business planning, mergers & acquisitions, and financial
due diligence.
Support in pricing strategies, cost-benefit analysis, and investment proposals.
Contribute to ERP/automation initiatives in finance for process efficiency.
- Team Management
Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team for high performance.
Ensure proper delegation, training, and succession planning.
Build a culture of accuracy, compliance, and accountability.
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of accounting standards (Ind AS/IFRS), taxation, and compliance.
Analytical and problem-solving skills with business acumen.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Proficiency in ERP systems (Tally).
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Qualifications & Experience
Education: Chartered Accountant (CA) / Cost Accountant (CMA) / MBA (Finance).
Experience: 10–15 years of progressive experience in Finance & Accounts, with at
least 3–5 years in a leadership role.
Industry Preference: Automotive, Manufacturing, Retail, IT, etc.,
Gender: Male
Salary: Best in the market
