As Deputy Manager Sourcing, you will be responsible for leading and driving strategic sourcing initiatives for various components, with a strong focus on cost optimization, supplier development, and procurement strategy for sheet metal, casting, forging and non-metal parts.

Role & responsibilities

  • Lead product and part costing activities to ensure competitive pricing and cost-effectiveness.
  • Strategically identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers based on capability, quality and cost parameters.
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with organizational goals and project timelines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing and quality for seamless part development.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and supply agreements with vendors.
  • Track market trends and commodity prices to inform sourcing decisions.
  • Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with quality, delivery and contractual commitments.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes for sheet metal, castings, forgings, proprietary and non-metal parts.
  • Analytical skills in product/part costing and cost breakdowns.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and supplier relationship management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems (SAP preferred) and costing tools.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.
