Job Description – Manager (Tool Making, Prototype & Production Molding Support)

Job Summary

The Manager will oversee the complete cycle of tool manufacturing, prototype development, and production molding support at Creatitech Industries Pvt. Ltd. This role involves managing projects from design to delivery, ensuring quality, cost efficiency, and on-time completion. The candidate will also coordinate with production and quality teams to support trial and production runs.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Tool & Prototype Management

  2. Plan, schedule, and monitor tool design, machining, assembly, and validation.

  3. Review DFM, feasibility, and tool design for all new projects.

  4. Ensure tool manufacturing meets delivery timelines, quality, and budget targets.

  5. Supervise prototype part development, assembly trials, and final approval.

2. Production Molding Support

  • Coordinate and assist the molding department during tool trials and production validation.

  • Optimize molding parameters and solve issues like flash, short shot, or shrinkage.

  • Prepare and document trial reports and feedback for continuous improvement.

  • Oversee preventive maintenance schedules and tool life monitoring.

  • Ensure smooth handover of molds from tool room to production.

  • Vendor & Material Coordination

  • Manage vendors for VMC, EDM, grinding, hardening, and other tool room activities.

  • Track outsourcing progress and ensure quality and delivery.

  • Handle material procurement planning and inventory for ongoing projects.

  • Customer & Technical Interface

  • Communicate with customers for technical reviews, approvals, and project updates.

  • Support sales during quotation and estimation of new tools and prototypes.

  • Prepare detailed project documentation, reports, and costing analysis.

  • Quality & Process Control

  • Ensure adherence to ISO / quality standards for all tool and prototype projects.

  • Conduct in-process and final inspections.

  • Promote 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and process improvement within the tool room.

6. Team Management

  • Supervise and guide machinists, toolmakers, and engineers.

  • Conduct daily progress reviews and allocate manpower effectively.

  • Train team members for skill enhancement and maintain a safe working environment.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of injection mold and tool manufacturing processes.

  • Hands-on with CNC, EDM, and conventional machining operations.

  • Proficient in CAD/CAM software (UG NX, SolidWorks, AutoCAD).

  • Experience in molding trials, process optimization, and defect troubleshooting.

  • Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills.

Qualifications

  • Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Tool & Die Making or Mechanical Engineering.

  • 8–15 years of experience in tool making, prototype, or production molding environment.

  • Knowledge of ISO documentation and project scheduling tools preferred.
