We are seeking a skilled Data Specialist with expertise in analyzing
China-related data
and conducting research across the web. The ideal candidate should possess proficiency in the
Chinese language (Mandarin)
and have a strong understanding
of China's political landscape, governance structures, and digital ecosystem
. This role involves
searching and extracting Chinese data from the web
, and inputting structured information into our
platform
for further processing and decision-making.

Responsibilities:

  1. Web Data Gathering
    : Conduct in-depth research on China-related topics using
    different
    sources, including government portals, social media platforms
    (e.g., WeChat, Weibo, Zhihu, Douyin, Baidu Tieba), and academic databases. Use advanced search techniques and tools to gather relevant information.
  2. Data Validation and Verification
    : Evaluate the authenticity and credibility of collected data by cross-referencing information from multiple Chinese sources. Validate and verify the accuracy and reliability of the gathered data.
  3. Collaboration and Reporting
    : Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and communicate findings effectively through written reports and presentations.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree (Chinese as a second language preferred).
    Strong
    Mandarin understanding
    skills with knowledge of
    Chinese political and legal terminology and censorship mechanisms
    is highly beneficial.
  2. Familiarity with
    dark web platforms,
    Tor network, will be added advantage.
  3. Attention to Detail:
    Keen attention to detail in data gathering, validation, and analysis. Ability to maintain accuracy and quality in collected data.
