Benefits Specialist – 7-Month Contract (India)

o9 Solutions is seeking an experienced Benefits Specialist (Contractor) to provide temporary coverage during a maternity leave. This role will run for approximately 7 months and will be focused on supporting employee benefit programs in India and APAC. The contractor will work closely with our HR team to ensure seamless administration, compliance, and employee support during this period.

This is a contract role designed for someone who can quickly step in, work independently, and manage benefits

operations without extensive onboarding.

What you'll do :

  • Administer employee benefit programs for India and APAC (medical, disability, retirement,

supplemental benefits, etc.).

  • Manage insurance enrollments, terminations, and life event changes; coordinate with vendors to

ensure timely renewals.

  • Support payroll deductions related to Provident Fund contributions, food wallet, work from home

allowance, certifications, and other benefits.

  • Ensure proper documentation and reporting for Employee Provident Fund (EPF/VPF).
  • Support vendor relationships, liaise with EMedLife and local agencies.
  • Reconcile benefit invoices and ensure accuracy of billing.
  • Respond to employee benefit inquiries promptly and accurately, ensuring compliance with

India/APAC policies and regulations.

  • Support compliance audits and maintain accurate benefit records.
  • Coordinate benefit orientation sessions for new hires during the coverage period.
  • Other benefit-related tasks as assigned.

What you'll bring

  • Experience: Minimum 4 years working in HR/benefits administration, with specific experience in India

and APAC benefits.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field (or

equivalent professional experience).

  • Skills:

o Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Suite.

o Strong knowledge of Workday (WD) for managing benefit elections.

o Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive/confidential data.

o Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain benefits to employees clearly.

  • Mindset: Able to work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt quickly in a fast-paced, global environment.
