Program Overview for FOLU:
The Food and Land Use Coalition (FOLU) seeks to accelerate a transformation of the world's food and land use systems to better protect our natural environment; provide nutritious and affordable food; strengthen the resilience and enhance the prosperity of people; and meet the SDGs and the Paris Agreement. FOLU aims to provide the practical connections, the evidence bases for action and a vision for change to drive a food and land use system transformation. We do this by:
- Partnering with those best-placed to develop and deliver messages regarding food and land use systems transformation within a given political economy;
- Working with national partners to develop compelling, evidence-based analyses, strategic land-use planning frameworks, pathways towards sustainable land-use and food systems, and policy recommendations; and
- Creating platforms and partnership models to encourage multi-stakeholder collaboration, both nationally and globally.
Food and Land Use Coalition in India
The Food and Land Use Coalition in India is a coalition of institutions working to support the Government of India's efforts to bring about a more sustainable food and land use economy for the country. The Food and Land Use Coalition in India supports policy research, engage directly with the Indian Government and other stakeholders to support the shift towards sustainable land use and food systems, and enables India's rich experience and diverse perspectives to be shared with the international FOLU community.
FOLU India comprises high-level policy engagement with national and sub-national decision-makers in the public and private sector. FOLU Coalition in India includes Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW), Revitalizing Rainfed Agriculture Network (RRAN), The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and WRI India, and a network of subnational partners.
Job Highlight:
As its activities are expanding both in thematic and geographic terms, FOLU India is looking for a Programme Associate who can support secondary research, support the FOLU India lead and FOLU India coordinator in management of FOLU India platform etc. The candidate must have a graduate degree in environmental science, natural resource management, or development studies with least 2 or more years of work experience in an operations and management role in development sector, or a graduate degree in business administration with work experience in environment, agriculture or related areas.
Key responsibilities will include supporting the FOLU India Country Coordinator and FOLU India Project Management Unit (PMU) in implementing FOLU India activities, and facilitating engagement with partners and stakeholders at national and sub-national levels, research driven communication, and supporting overall programme development and strategy. The candidate is expected to bring strong organisational skills and be comfortable with interdisciplinary, inter-programmatic, and geographically dispersed teams. The position holder must be willing to travel within the country, including in remote areas with difficult terrain, when it is safe to do so.
What you will do:
- Support the programme staff in organising and conducting meetings, conferences and other events, whether online or in person.
- Prepare and monitor invoices and submit and reconcile expense reports.
- Develop and maintain a document archiving and filing system.
- Update and maintain office policies and procedures.
- Maintain contact lists of relevant stakeholders.
- Extend the documentation and data entry support to the FOLU India PMU whenever required.
What you will need:
- Bachelor or equivalent degree in a related field, preferably management background.
- Knowledge of office management systems and procedures.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritise work.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office – Office 365
Potential Salary and Benefits
: INR 9,50,000 to INR 12,50,000 CTC
Salary shall be commensurate with experience and skills. WRI offers a generous and comprehensive benefits package.
Location:
New Delhi, with travel to other locations whenever required.
Duration
: The position is a one year position (extendable based on performance and project requirements). The start date is as soon as possible.
