Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electro-Mechanical Engineer/Technician to design, assemble, and integrate a Single Axis Rate and Position Table. The candidate will be responsible for mechanical fabrication, motor and encoder integration, electrical wiring, and system calibration.

This role requires a strong combination of hands-on mechanical assembly skills, electrical integration expertise, and motion control understanding.

Key Responsibilities Mechanical & Electrical Integration

• Assist in the design, fabrication, and assembly of the rotary table and support frame.
• Integrate servo/stepper motors, drives, encoders, and feedback devices for precision control.
• Ensure mechanical alignment, load balancing, and bearing setup for stable operation.
• Prepare wiring harnesses, control panels, and interface cabling.
• Perform component installation, soldering, crimping, and signal routing as per drawings.
• Collaborate with electrical/control engineers for signal interfacing and controller programming.

Calibration & Testing

• Perform system calibration, verifying speed, angular position, repeatability, and accuracy.
• Support PID tuning and motion testing under supervision of control engineers.
• Conduct data logging and performance verification using appropriate tools.
• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical/electrical issues during testing.

Documentation & Support

• Prepare assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, and test reports.
• Maintain bill of materials (BOM) and assist in component selection.
• Ensure all work complies with safety and ESD standards.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, or Electrical Engineering.
• 25 years of hands-on experience with motion systems, servo drives, or rotary mechanisms.
• Experience with CNC tables, test benches, or precision positioning systems is an advantage.
• Familiar with controllers (Delta, Siemens, Galil, Arduino, STM32, etc.).
• Working knowledge of encoder systems, limit switches, and motion feedback.
• Basic experience with CAD tools (SolidWorks / AutoCAD) for mechanical review.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of LabVIEW, MATLAB, or Python for motion analysis or data logging.
• Understanding of moment of inertia, torque calculation, and load balancing.
• Good communication, teamwork, and documentation skills.

Procurement & Vendor Management

• Work with the procurement team to prepare BOMs, identify suppliers, and track component delivery.
• Coordinate with vendors for fabrication, machining, and part availability.
• Evaluate vendor quotations and maintain procurement status logs.

Reporting & Documentation

• Provide weekly progress updates to management including timeline adherence, risks, and corrective actions.
• Maintain project records, meeting minutes, and change logs.
• Prepare progress presentations, budget updates, and milestone reports.

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure the project meets technical specifications, safety standards, and documentation completeness.
• Support final acceptance testing and validation with the engineering team.

Required Qualifications

• B.E. / B.Tech / M.E. / M.Tech in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in managing engineering or R&D projects, preferably in motion control, automation, or test equipment.
• Strong understanding of engineering processes, procurement cycles, and project lifecycle management.
• Proficiency in MS Project, Gantt chart scheduling, and progress reporting tools.
• Excellent interpersonal, coordination, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Background in servo systems, automation, or electro-mechanical assemblies.
• Familiarity with ISO / QA documentation practices.
• Knowledge of basic budgeting and vendor negotiation.
• Prior experience with Make-in-India or government tender-based projects is an advantage.
