We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Tech Reporter with a strong background in journalism to cover the ever-evolving world of technology, startups, innovation, and digital transformation. The ideal candidate will have a proven record of breaking impactful stories, conducting insightful interviews, and producing high-quality content across digital and print platforms. This role requires someone who can translate complex technical developments into engaging narratives that resonate with both industry insiders and general audiences.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities
  • News Reporting & Analysis: Research, pitch, and write timely, accurate, and well-structured stories on technology trends, emerging startups, product launches, policies, and innovations shaping the tech ecosystem.
  • Feature Writing: Craft in-depth features, opinion pieces, and investigative reports that offer unique perspectives on the technology sector and its impact on business, society, and governance.
  • Interviews & Insights: Conduct interviews with industry leaders, founders, investors, and policymakers to bring exclusive insights to readers.
  • Editorial Collaboration: Work closely with editors, designers, and multimedia teams to develop compelling narratives supported by visuals, data, and interactive formats.
  • Digital Storytelling: Leverage multimedia formats such as podcasts, videos, and infographics to enhance storytelling and audience engagement.
  • Source Development: Build and maintain a strong network of contacts across the tech industry — including startups, venture capital firms, corporate leaders, and government bodies — to generate exclusive stories and reliable information.
  • Content Optimization: Adapt content for various digital platforms, ensuring high standards of accuracy, SEO, and audience relevance.
  • Event Coverage: Represent the publication at major tech events, conferences, and product launches, providing on-the-ground reporting and live updates.
  • Trend Monitoring: Stay ahead of emerging trends in AI, cybersecurity, fintech, deep tech, digital policy, and other tech domains to provide readers with informed and forward-looking insights.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, English, or a related field.
  • 10–14 years of professional experience in journalism, with a minimum of 5 years specifically covering technology, business, or startups.
  • Strong editorial judgment and ability to identify stories with high reader value.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with a sharp eye for detail, accuracy, and tone.
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines while juggling multiple assignments.
  • Deep understanding of India's and global tech ecosystems, startup culture, and digital economy.
  • Familiarity with data journalism, analytics tools, and SEO best practices.
  • Comfortable working across platforms — web, print, and social media.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build sources and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
