We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist.

The project:

We cater to multiple applications for business within FX and Metals space. Few are vendor applications, and few are inhouse applications.

We have Metals post trade application which uses a third-party vendor platform 'Calypso' for Confirmations/Settlements processes. Along with this we also have other third-party vendor applications namely CoreIMS and Aurum which are used for Inventory management and Metals Clearing respectively. We perform end to end development/testing and support for these applications by closely working with business stakeholders.

As a vision we plan to demise our Calypso based legacy application used by Metal's business and replace the same with our Inhouse application called 'OPAS' (Operations Platform as a service). OPAS is already being used by FX and business plans to have a single Backoffice system for FX and Metals.

The vision of OPAS is to have

• achieving ultra-scalability without sacrificing performance and availability
• breakdown into components and take efforts to decentralize change management and providing teams with more control over how features make their way to production
• distributed and move away from vertically scaled infrastructure and single points of failures

Not only needed to transform the way we build and operates on a post trade system, and it needed to transform the culture of GM operations.

Our teams are currently operating in micro services environment based on Java 8 and Spring Cloud and using a vendor product. Those micro services interact with various upstream and downstream systems. We are also build UI for OPAS HTML5, Javascript and ReactJS and the platform integrates with other systems in the Bank using a combination of MQ, File, Web Service and REST interfaces.

In this role, you will:

• Development of new requirements
• Automating testing and deployment of small and frequent releases
• Speaking to product owner and business on features and requirements
• Deploying changes to production frequently and confidently
• Production availability of your service – if you build the service you own the service
• Application Support

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

• Experience with back-end technologies: Microservice architecture, Java 17+, Spring Boot, Vertx and Hibernate
• Experiences with Test driven development methodologies such as Junit & BDD
• Experience in developing messaging and streaming service, including Kafka, Websphere MQ, ActiveMQ, Solace MQ

• Worked on designing and delivering following aspects in Java based micro-service systems

• Scalability

• Maintainability
• Fault Tolerance
• Security
• Transaction Management
• Communication between services
• Database strategy
• Central Environment configuration
• Distributed Tracing
• Log aggregation
• System level Error/Exception Management

• Versioning for libraries / services considering technical debt

• Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment

• Nice to have experience with Front-end technologies: HTML5, JavaScript and ReactJS
• Ability to solve complex problems and propose solutions
• Fluent English
