Reports To : Engineering Manager / Tech Lead

Role Overview :

We are seeking a seasoned Java Backend Developer to join our dynamic engineering team.

This role is crucial for designing, developing, and optimizing highly available and scalable backend solutions that power our enterprise applications.

The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Java and Microservices architecture, with a passion for building robust, high-performance systems.

Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, will be a significant advantage.


Key Responsibilities :

Software Development & Architecture :

- Design and Development : Lead the design and development of application features and services using Java and Spring Boot, ensuring high standards of code quality, performance, and scalability.

- Microservices Implementation : Architect and implement solutions based on Microservices architecture, managing inter-service communication, service discovery, and resilience patterns.

- API Development : Develop and maintain RESTful APIs for seamless integration with frontend

applications and third-party systems.

- Database Management : Design, optimize, and maintain database schemas and perform efficient data retrieval and manipulation using SQL/NoSQL technologies.

2. System Optimization & Reliability :

- Scalable Systems : Focus on building and optimizing scalable backend systems capable of handling high transaction volumes and ensuring low latency.

- Problem-Solving & Debugging : Utilize strong problem-solving and debugging skills to diagnose complex issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes in a distributed system environment.

- Testing & Quality : Ensure high code coverage by writing comprehensive unit, integration, and performance tests.

3. Cloud & Deployment :

- Deployment Pipeline : Work with CI/CD tools and methodologies to automate build, testing, and deployment processes.

- Cloud Integration (Good to Have) : Leverage exposure to AWS cloud services (e.g., EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, EKS) to deploy, monitor, and scale applications in a cloud-native environment.

4. Collaboration & Mentorship :

- Collaborate effectively with product managers, QA engineers, and frontend teams to understand requirements and deliver end-to-end solutions.

- Mentor junior team members on technical best practices, design patterns, and system architecture.

- Architecture : Strong expertise in Microservices architecture principles and design patterns.

- Web Services : Hands-on experience with designing and implementing robust REST APIs and understanding of API lifecycle management.

- Database : Proficiency with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and ORM tools (e.g., Hibernate, JPA).

- Cloud & DevOps : Familiarity with Git, Maven/Gradle, and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).

- Problem Solving : Strong problem-solving and debugging skills for troubleshooting distributed systems.


Good to Have Skills :

- Cloud Services : Hands-on AWS cloud services exposure (e.g., containerization using Docker/Kubernetes/ECS, serverless, message queuing like SQS/Kafka).

- Caching/NoSQL : Experience with caching technologies (e.g., Redis, Memcached) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).

- Monitoring : Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack)
