Role Overview

We are looking for a Lead Backend Engineer who will own, architect, and scale the core backend infrastructure. You will work closely with AI/ML teams to integrate LLMs, STT/TTS engines, RAG patterns, and real-time inference workflows into our platform.

What You'll Do

  • Own and evolve the backend architecture (Java + Spring Boot).
  • Design scalable, secure, low-latency AI-integrated microservices.
  • Collaborate with AI/ML engineers on LLMs, TTS/STT, and RAG integrations.
  • Build REST APIs, backend orchestration, and high-performance data pipelines.
  • Scale real-time systems powering AI avatar interviews and voice communication.
  • Drive best practices in code quality, CI/CD, performance, and cloud reliability.
  • Mentor engineers and lead backend delivery end-to-end.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 4–6 years of backend development in high-growth/startup environments.
  • Strong expertise in Java (17+) and Spring Boot.
  • Experience with microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS (preferred), Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience integrating AI/ML features or LLM-based workflows.
  • Familiarity with TTS/STT APIs, async processing, and inference layers.
  • Proficiency with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, and queues (SQS/SNS, Kafka, RabbitMQ).
  • Strong understanding of security, scaling, and performance tuning.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with MLOps or deploying models to production.
  • Knowledge of containerization (Docker), ECS/EKS, Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with vector databases, RAG pipelines, LangChain.
  • Experience with WebSockets, streaming, or voice protocol integrations.
